We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Data Analyst with a strong background in SQL databases, stored procedures, and Talend pipeline analysis to support our team of dedicated Azure Data Engineers

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Data Analyst will be integral in supporting the development and deployment of our modern data warehouse in Azure SQL using Azure Data Factory:

• Analysis and Reverse Engineering: Analyze existing databases, specifically legacy SQL Server stored procedures and Talend Pipelines, to extract, understand, and document business logic that will be adapted for the new data warehouse.
• Data Mapping and Documentation: Produce comprehensive data maps, offering clarity and direction to the data engineering team. Create and maintain detailed technical specifications related to data flow, transformations, and validations.
• Technical Specifications: Translate business logic and requirements from legacy systems into technical specifications for the Azure Data Engineers to implement in the new system.
• Testing and Validation: Assist the data engineering team in testing data pipelines. Validate the correctness and integrity of data transformations, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the Azure Data Engineer team, offering insights from analyzed data, suggesting improvements, and ensuring the new data warehouse aligns with extracted business logic.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• *MUST HAVE* - at least 0-1 years of experience as a technical data analyst working in a data warehouse environment
• Familiarity with SQL Server and Azure SQL
• Demonstrated experience examining and understanding ETL solutions including SQL Server Stored Procedures, ADF Pipelines and Talend Pipelines.
• Experience in producing data maps and creating technical documentation.
• Proven track record in testing and validating data solutions.
• Experience delivering data solutions in an agile environment using either Scrum or Kanban.

SKILLS & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to understand, decipher, and translate complex data processes.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting for data querying and analysis.
• Familiarity with data integration patterns, ETL/ELT processes, and general data warehousing concepts.
• A basic understanding of Azure Data Factory, and its components
• A basic understanding of Talend, and its components
• Familiarity with Cloud Analytics & Reporting using PowerBI is a plus
• Knowledge of Cloud Analytics & Reporting tools, such as PowerBI, is a plus.
• Experience working in an agile environment, utilizing tools such as Jira or Azure Boards.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles and techniques including CI/CD and Agile (Kanban/Scrum) Delivery of Data Solutions using Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with the SDLC and IT Operations, ensuring smooth transitions and deployments.
