Q. Can you tell me something about yourself, your role, and the package details?

I'm Aryaana, selected for Softare Engineer Role at HP

Q. How many interview rounds are conducted at HP?

  • Round 1 – Aptitude Test 
  • Round 2 –Technical Interview 
  • Round 3 - HR Interview Round

Q. What kinds of questions were asked in Aptitude Assessment?

In the Aptitude test, the candidates the questions are based on Quantitative, verbal abilities, and technical questions.

Quantitative aptitude: There were 10-15 questions

Some of the topics from the questions asked are:

  • Profit / Loss, 
  • Speed/distance/time, 
  • Average
  • Percentage etc

Verbal Ability: In this section, a couple of English comprehensions are given. Along with this, they have 8-10 questions on grammar, such as sentence ordering, synonyms, antonyms, etc

Technical Questions: There are questions on computer concepts and popular programming languages. Usually, 20-25 questions will be there. 

Q. What kinds of questions were asked in the Technical Interview?

My technical interview was a detailed discussion. The interview duration will be between 60 to 90 mins.

  • What is an Object-Oriented model?
  • What is DML Compiler?
  • What is the database?
  • What is a Database system?
  • What is Data Model?
  • What is Fully Functional dependency?
  • What is Join?
  • What is order by clause?
  • What is Identity?
  • What are the uses of view?
  • What is Contextual Selector?
  • Is CSS case sensitive?
  • What is XPath?
  • What is CSS?
  • difference between HTML tags and elements
  • What is ahead in an HTML document?
  • What is “Semantic HTML?”
  • What does DOCTYPE mean?
  • What are variables?

  • Are you Comfortable working in different shifts?

  • You weakness and how did you overcome?

  • Why do you think should we hire for this role?

  • What makes you interested in this job?

  • What is your greatest achievement?

  • Why you want to work for HP

  • Would you lie for the company?

  • Any difficult decision you have made so far?

Q.  What was the opportunity type - on-campus / off-campus drive?

It was an off-campus drive.

Q. How did you start your Preparation?

I joined the Talent Battle course which helped me to prepare well for the placement preparation.

Q. How long will it take to complete the entire process of recruitment and get the result?

The total selection process in HP will be between 25-30 days to get the offer.

  • Develop computer proficiency
  • Work on the communication skills 
  • Showcase problem-solving skills.
  • MS Office knowledge is advantage
