Hello, I'm Rajat, a 2024 batch Engineering student. I recently had the opportunity to go through the hiring process at Infosys and was selected for the System Engineer role with a package of 6 LPA. Here’s a detailed account of my experience.
Application Process
I applied for the Infosys drive through the Talent Battle Group. This group provided a link and detailed instructions on the application process, which I diligently followed. About 20-25 days after applying, I received an email inviting me to the first round of the selection process.
The First Round: Online Test
The first round was an online test comprising both aptitude and coding questions. The test was divided into two sections: 90 minutes for aptitude and 45 minutes for coding. All the questions were multiple-choice (MCQ) format. I found the numerical ability questions relatively easy, while the logical reasoning questions were moderately challenging.
Technical Interview
The technical interview focused on several key areas:
Project-related questions: I was asked to discuss my projects in detail.
Favorite programming language: I chose Python and was asked related Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) questions.
OOP Concepts: I explained the pillars of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
The technical questions ranged from easy to moderate in difficulty.
HR Interview
The HR interview included questions about my preferred domain and location, as well as how I handle work pressure, for which I provided an example.
Waiting for the Result
After the interview, it took about one month to receive the final result. I was thrilled to learn that I had been selected for the System Engineer role.
Advice for Infosys Aspirants
Here are some tips based on my experience:
Stay Calm: Keeping a cool head is crucial during the preparation and interview process.
Prepare Well: Focus on both aptitude (especially numerical ability) and basic programming questions along with DSA concepts.
Understand OOP Principles: Be clear about the pillars of OOP.
Be Honest: Ensure that your resume accurately reflects your skills and experiences, and be truthful during the interview.
I hope my experience helps future Infosys aspirants. Good luck to all!
