About the job

The DX Supportability team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to join us for an interesting initiative. In this role, you will test the supportability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), namely sos, redhat-support-tool, and rig. These tools are used for collecting system logs and other debug information by our internal support teams to fix customer bugs faster and to improve customer experience. 

What you will do

• Assures improvement in the quality of utilities for collecting system logs and other debug information used by our internal support teams.

• Use your Linux knowledge and skills to design and carry out tests.
• Identify issues that might affect performance, stability, and interoperability.
• Work with developers to investigate issues
• Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
• Design, develop and maintain automated test suites
• Prototype and present your ideas; communicate with other team members
• Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
• Test software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations.

What you will bring

• Solid skills and background in Linux : RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.

• Expert in Bash and/or Python scripting
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
• Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions

Good to Have: Certifications in RHCSA, RHCT, RHCE
